This 6-Week Series will feature AMERICAN TANGO

5:00 pm  - Ballroom: Beginning American Tango (Level 1/2)

     American Tango was introduced in the United States in the 1940's as a simplified and “sanitary” (ie, considered less and vulgar) version of the Argentine Tango which originated in the brothels of Buenos Aires.

     Tango, with its “Tango Walks,” Cortes, quick foot flicks and sharp head movements, is beautiful and dramatic. American Tango is known as the simplest of all the Tangos and also the showiest. Danced correctly, American Tango can be just as dramatic and compelling as its Argentine cousin.
