Trish Connery is a dancer, teacher, choreographer, competitor and judge specializing in the partner dances. Her company, DanceChatter.Com, is based in the San Diego area and provides dance instruction from San Diego to Los Angeles.
An award-winning dancer, Trish most recently took 1st Place Overall in Pro/Pro Diamond Classic at the prestigious UCWDC’s 2012 Worlds Championship event in Orlando, FL. Over the years Trish has also won or placed in numerous competitions on the local and national West Coast Swing circuit. She is a multi-year finalist at the US Open Swing Dance Championship in Strictly Swing Division and she’s also taken top awards at three different US Opens in Team Division. Currently she competes in the All-Star/Pro/Champion level on the West Coast Swing circuit in addition to the UCWDC circuit.
Trish began her teaching/judging career with the legendary “teacher of teachers,” Skippy Blair and logged hundreds of hours in Dance Dynamics Intensives, a training program for teachers and judges. Today Trish teaches a multitude of dances: West Coast Swing, Salsa, Hustle, Country 2-Step, Nightclub 2-Step, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot and Waltz. She has taught internationally, on cruises and in 2008 was a California Swing Dance Hall of Fame nominee.
In addition to her weekly group classes and private lessons, Trish is often on the teaching and judging staff of national dance conventions. She is the annual staff instructor for the Autry National Center’s celebrated Sizzlin’ Salsa Summer Nights music and dance series in Los Angeles and she also produces specialty and/or themed workshops for corporate clients, local dance studios and private parties. She provides teaching, choreography and coaching services for social and competitive dancers as well as wedding couples preparing for their all-important first dance. Trish is also the creator and driving force behind the DanceChatter.Com Performance Class, a program designed to further the dance development of students through dance routines and performance opportunities.
